GREETINGS
Bandung Choral Society with the support of many musicians conductors, teachers and trainers ventured to present the Choir Festival we are all proud of THE 11th BALI INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL on 25-28 July 2022 in Bali. Of course, the implementation of the on-site festival this time will implement strict health protocols for the safety and health of all participants and implementers.
The world situation due to this pandemic still leaves question marks and worries for all of us. But the call to continue our lives with full vigilance is a must for all of us. Likewise, Choir activities will be continued with vigilance, so that singing activities can provide hope, joy and additional immunity and body immunity.
We invite Choirs from all over Indonesia to
participate in the upcoming THE 11th BALI INTERNATIONAL CHOIR
FESTIVAL by continuing to adhere to health protocols both during preparation
and during the festival. If the
situation allows, hopefully participants from abroad can participate in this
festival as well.

This schedule is still subject to change. Participants are expected to
follow all activities to completion.
A. OPENING CEREMONY
The BICF11-2022 Opening Ceremony, will be held on July 25, 2022 featuring a Parade of Delegates from all BICF11 participants and an invited choir performance.
B. FRIENDSHIP
CONCERT
Your choir
can join this program by registering specifically, participants who have
registered in other activities can join the Friendship Concert for FREE, if
slots are still available.
Participants are given the opportunity to appear and tell their vision and mission as well as how the journey from preparation to successful participation in BICF11 - 2022. Participants can also invite the entire audience to interact in the performance and build friendships with other participating groups.
C. CHORAL
WORKSHOP
This activity is open to individual singers, conductors & choirs. Each participant will gain enrichment in choral technical knowledge and skills, as well as be actively involved in atelier practice, workshops, collaborations and hands-on training with Choral Experts. Each participant gets a certificate of participation.
D. CHOIR
CLINIC
You can
join this activity by registering specifically in the Choir Clinic according to
the registration date. This activity is free for choirs who have registered at
Evaluation Performances and paid off the Event Package before March 11, 2022.
Participants
are given the opportunity and special time to explore theory and practice
directly from Choral Experts to improve their artistic quality and performance
in the future.
The Choir Clinic will be scheduled by the committee before or after your scheduled choir performance, and cannot be changed by the participant.
E. CHOIR
EXCHANGE & COLLABORATION
Your choir
can join the program by registering specifically to perform in the Choir
Collaboration.
Some special choirs will be given the opportunity to collaborate with other choirs to be able to learn from each other and perform in a new performance that has never been experienced before.
F. PARADE OF
DELEGATES
Each participant MUST send 2 (two) representatives to appear in the Parade of Delegates. Participants are given special time to show their regional wealth on the parade stage by using traditional clothes and attributes from their respective regions.
G. STAGE
REHEARSAL
Stage Rehearsal is intended for all participants to be able to know the acoustics of the room, find the right standing position for sound and visual quality during performances. It is not recommended to sing the entire program song during UCP. Participants MUST attend the UCP on 24 or 25 July 2020 which has been scheduled.
H. SPECIAL
JURY AWARD
Choirs, conductors, or musicians with performances that show high artistic value and amaze the judges will receive a Trophy or a "Special Jury Award" certificate. A trophy or certificate will be given at Awarding.
I.
CHOIR COMPETITION
All choirs and vocal groups can register in the Choir Competition. The participating choirs will have the opportunity and experience to perform in international competitions.

All choirs participating in this competition will receive Medals & Certificates according to the final scores achieved using a 40-point total score system with Final Score groupings as follows
SUCCESSFUL
PARTICIPATION : 01,00 - 09,99
BRONZE
MEDAL : 10,00 - 19,99
SILVER
MEDAL : 20,00 - 29,99
GOLD MEDAL : 30,00 - 40,00
CATEGORY
WINNER
Participants who get the Gold Medal with the highest score will get the "Category Winner" Trophy
CHOIR
CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION
Every choir that achieves a minimum score of 33.00 (Gold Lv-4) will get a qualification to appear again in the Choir Championship in accordance with the provisions of the category that is followed.
J.
CHOIR CHAMPIONSHIP
This Choir Championship is intended for experienced choirs who have achieved achievements in various festivals (earned a gold medal with a minimum score of 84.00) or achieved qualifications in the previous BICF according to the category they participated in.
PRIZES
& AWARDS
Each participating choir will receive an award in the form of a Medal & Certificate according to the final evaluation results obtained. The scoring system in the Choir Championship is a Total Score System of 100 points, with the Final Score groupings as follows:

MEDAL : 40,00 - 59,99
SILVER
MEDAL : 60,00 - 79,99
GOLD MEDAL : 80,00 - 100,00
CATEGORY
CHAMPION & GRAND PRIX QUALIFICATION
The choir that wins the Gold Medal with the highest score in each category will receive the “Category Champion” trophy and qualified to perform again in the Grand Prix of Champions round.
K. GRAND PRIX
a.
Those who are entitled to appear in the Grand
Prix of Champions are all Category Champions and Choir who have received
recommendations from the jury.
b.
Participants who achieve more than one
category champion, will appear once by bringing two best songs with maximum
performance time of 10 minutes.
c.
All COPYRIGHTS for the use of songs are the
responsibility of the participants. Participants who do not meet these criteria
are considered withdraw from the Grand Prix of Champions round
d. Grand Prix winner will get Certificate, Trophy “Grand Prix of BICF11-2022”
L. AWARDING
& CLOSING CEREMONY
All
participants are required to attend the Award Ceremony to receive the results
of all BICF11 - 2022 activities. Certificates, Medals and Trophy will only be
awarded on a predetermined schedule.
There will
be no repetition of announcements or award presentations on stage for
Participants who are late or not present at the announcement.
CATEGORY EXPLENATION
A.
CATEGORY 01 – 05
One group can only participate in one category from 01 to 05, but
can participate in other categories from categories 06 – 12.
Song selection and difficulty level must be age-appropriate.
Tolerance, 10% of the number of singers can be one year older/younger
than the written age limit.
B.
MUSICA SACRA [06]
this category refers to sacred music from ancient times to the
present.
Christian songs that area not included in sacred music and also
Gospel & Spiritual song cannot be performed in this category.
In choir competition, one song with a composer/arranger born
before 1900 and one song with a composer/arranger born 1900 and after. In the
choir championship plus 1 free choice sacra song.
C.
GOSPEL & SPIRITUAL [07]
The song program must be an Afro-America Gospel & Spiritual
tradition.
Modern gospel song and African folksongs cannot be performed in
this category.
D.
MUSIC of RELIGION [08]
The song program refers to religious music from around the world,
such as Orthodox Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, or other faiths.
Song with musica sacra and gospel & spiritual content may not
be performed in this category.
E. POP &
JAZZ [09]
Program songs of free choice with type of Pop & Jazz music.
In this category, participants can provide their own additional
acoustic musical instruments.
F.
FOLKSONG [10]
Program songs must be folk songs that have been adapted in choral
performances.
It is highly recommended to perform Folksong from the
participant’s home town.
Participants must submit the score of the song along with
information regarding the origin and meaning of the song in English.
G.
VOCAL GROUP [11]
Participants be able to sing songs using instruments and can also
be A-Capella.
Participants prepare their own instruments.
H.
VIRTUAL CHOIR [12]
Participants send performance videos on the form of virtual choir
or recordings during performances.
Video and Audio Editing is permitted as long as it does not
interfere with the artistic value and fairness of the song being performed.
The submitted videos were made within the last two years.

Participants can only participate in one category from 01 – 05, and can choose additional categories 06 - 12
tba.
All participants who take part in the
11th Bali International Choir Festival 2022 MUST pay the
registration and Event Package.
